Quarter size hail fell at mile marker 9.3 on Interstate-77.

Wider weather episode

Thunderstorms developed in advance of an approaching cold front. Some of these increased to severe levels and produced very large hail, some stones up to tennis ball size, and also localized damaging wind gusts.
