The COOP observer in Pollock reported 6 inches of snow.

Wider weather episode

A weak area of low pressure across southwestern South Dakota helped promote the development of snow and pockets of heavy banded snow from the morning of March 5th through the morning of March 6th. Generally 2 to 6 inches of snow was observed, with localized higher amounts including 12 inches 14 miles north-northeast of Isabel, 10.7 inches in Timber Lake, 8.5 inches 2 miles southwest of McLaughlin, 8 inches 8 miles south-southwest of Keldron, and 6.5 inches in Sisseton. Hazardous travel conditions due to snow and ice-covered roadways resulted in several vehicle accidents.
