Extreme drought (D3) continued across the northern half of the county, with Exceptional Drought (D4) across the southern half of the county.

Wider weather episode

Extreme (D3) to Exceptional (D4) drought conditions continued to worsen over the area during the month of April 2023. Continued below normal rainfall, led to the the extreme and exceptional drought conditions expanding over south central Kansas, by the end of the month.
