The fire department in Milnesand reported an estimated 65 mph thunderstorm wind gust. The combination of winds and hail produced white out conditions.

Wider weather episode

The combination of a disturbance over CO along with healthy low-level moisture resulted in severe storms developing across the eastern plains of New Mexico. These cells produced quarter sized hail at times. Cells congealed into squall lines as they approached the Texas border resulting in severe wind gusts.
