On the evening of May 7th, a line of thunderstorms produced heavy rain, strong winds, and severe hail across portions of northwest Indiana. Swaths of 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain fell across parts of Newton, Jasper, and Benton Counties as well as extreme southwestern Lake County.
