Event narrative

Thunderstorms producing localized rainfall of 5+ inches caused significant ponding of water in the vicinity of Mount Carbon to the south of Pottsville. There was a still-water rescue when a vehicle became stranded in approximately 3 feet of standing water on Tumbling Run Road. Another vehicle nearby stalled in standing water beneath a railroad overpass near Route 61.
