Wider weather episode
In the afternoon and evening of the 24th, clusters of strong to severe storms were stretched from southwest to northeast across southeastern Arkansas as robust instability and very strong wind shear produced a volatile severe weather environment. A strong upper level trough aided in widespread thunderstorm development. With numerous thunderstorms clusters and embedded supercells, damaging winds were reported across the area.
