Event narrative

Thunderstorm winds downed a tree and eight inch diameter limbs across Park Avenue between 13th Street and Lafayette Avenue.

Wider weather episode

Thunderstorms moved across west central Indiana during the afternoon and evening hours of August 5th with many of these thunderstorms producing wall clouds due to strong shear in the mid levels. A lack of instability and shear near the surface led to no funnel clouds or tornadoes reported. One localized area in Vigo county experienced damaging wind gusts within the rear flank downdraft of one of the wall clouds.
