Wider weather episode
Thunderstorms that originally developed in northwest Kansas very early on the morning of June 10th began to intensify, which led them to develop into a Mesoscale Convective System (MCS). This feature then started moving southeast and tracked across Oklahoma and Arkansas before reaching southern Mississippi. As it did, one portion of the MCS was strong enough to produce severe winds.
