Event narrative

The human caused Oak started on June 16 north of Sonoita. The fire spread rapidly northeast in windy and dry conditions and resulted in the closure of State Route 83. The fire consumed 3,213 acres before becoming fully contained on June 23. Fire suppression costs tallied $1.2 million.
