Drier than normal conditions resulted in severe drought conditions for 110 square miles or 16% of Adams County through June.

Wider weather episode

A lack of rainfall and warmer than average temperatures resulted in severe drought conditions developing in portions of west-central and central Wisconsin towards the end of June. Between April 1st and severe drought development by June 27th, a total of 6 to 8 inches of rain fell in Vernon County. This was 6 to 8 inches below normal, or 25 to 50 percent of normal.
