Event narrative

A trained spotter reported quarter size hail southwest of Johnstown.

Wider weather episode

Two groups of supercells moved out of South Dakota and into northern Nebraska during the afternoon and early evening, with the second eventually converging into a small squall line. Another cluster of supercells moved from the panhandle into southwest Nebraska and also evolved into a squall line. Several reports of large hail and damaging winds were received, primarily in Cherry County and a swath from Garden to Lincoln counties.
