A wind gust of 54 knots (62 MPH) was measured by a personal weather station at High Knob Tower (KVAFRONT11).

Wider weather episode

Numerous showers and thunderstorms developed along a lee pressure trough after several days of late season heat. Several of these storms turned severe, producing both damaging wind gusts and large hail.
