Wind gusts of up to 48 knots (55 MPH) were measured by a personal weather station at Neck District (KMDCAMBR16) adjacent to the tidal Choptank River.
Wider weather episode
Numerous showers and thunderstorms developed along a lee pressure trough after several days of late season heat. Several of these storms produced strong winds and hail over the tidal Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay.
