A couple of trees were blown down by thunderstorm winds.
Wider weather episode
An upper level area of low pressure and and associated cold front dropped into the the Mid-Atlantic region. Storms erupted by midday, aided in part by large-scale forcing, but also driven by diurnal heating and unstable air. A few organized clusters of storms produced wind damage across the area.
