Event narrative
The western half of the county continued to have extreme drought (D3) with conditions improving to moderate drought (D1) in the eastern portions of the county.
Wider weather episode
Exceptional drought (D4) and severe drought (D3) continued across much of the region during the July. There was some beneficial rain in South Central Kansas which allowed several counties to improve significantly to where no drought conditions existed or improved to moderate drought (D2) by the end of the month.
