Event narrative
Extreme drought (D3) continued across the county to start July but improved to Moderate drought (D1) across the northeastern parts of the county. The remainder of the county improved to abnormally dry (D0) by the end of the month.
Wider weather episode
Exceptional drought (D4) and severe drought (D3) continued across much of the region during the July. There was some beneficial rain in South Central Kansas which allowed several counties to improve significantly to where no drought conditions existed or improved to moderate drought (D2) by the end of the month.
