A surface boundary moved through Central New York, kicking off a line of storms across the region. This line of thunderstorms had two portions with one line moving north and another line moving east. With a moisture rich and unstable environment ahead of the boundary, thunderstorms quickly became severe. Damaging wind gusts were the main threat with these storms. The majority of damage reports were for downed trees and utility lines.
