An 18 inch diameter, dead tree was snapped.

Wider weather episode

An upper level disturbance moved across the Billings Forecast Area during the afternoon and evening hours of the 30th which resulted in numerous thunderstorms to develop. In addition, temperature/dewpoint spreads were high. As a result, these thunderstorms produced mainly severe wind gusts.
