Wider weather episode
Lake Erie and northeast OH remained in the warm sector during the late morning through early evening hours of July 6th as a cold front drifted eastward across far-western Lake Erie and western OH. Clusters of multicell showers and thunderstorms well-ahead of the front persisted generally eastward over south-central Lake Erie and adjacent portions of northeast OH during the early afternoon. These showers and storms produced several gale-force peak convective wind gusts along the lakeshore. The showers and storms encountered moderate MUCAPE and effective bulk shear, respectively.
