The NOS tide gage FRDF1 at Fernandina Beach recorded a peak tide value of 2.43 ft MHHW on 9/27 at 9:36 pm. Minor tidal flooding begins at 2 ft MHHW at this location. On 9/28 at 9:18 pm, the gage measured 2.38 ft MHHW. Moderate tidal flooding begins at 2.5 ft MHHW at this location. On 9/30 at 10:30 am, the tide gage measured 2.41 ft MHHW.

Coastal hazard potential increased through the week as high astronomical spring tides coincided with a persistent onshore flow pattern. Coastal hazards include increasingly strong and frequent rip currents, beach erosion and minor to moderate tidal flooding along the coast, within the Intracoastal Waterway and St. Johns River basin.
