Upper level ridge moved over south Texas toward the end of the Dog Days of August. This led to dangerous to excessive heat conditions across the Coastal Bend, Victoria Crossroads and western Brush Country. Excessive heat conditions occurred over the inland Coastal Bend where heat index values rose above 120 degrees from the 7th through the 10th.
