The Jasper County 911 Call Center reported a tree down near the intersection of Deerfield Road and Deer Lane.

Thunderstorms across the Deep South were forced eastward by a shortwave across southeast South Carolina during late afternoon and evening hours, encountering a very unstable airmass marked by high levels of mixed-layer CAPE, strong low-level lapse rates, strong 0-6 km bulk shear and inverted v soundings displaying high levels of downdraft CAPE. As a result, several thunderstorms became severe, producing damaging winds across southern portions of southeast South Carolina.
