Event narrative
Severe Drought (D2) was ongoing across the southern two thirds of the county with Moderate Drought (D1) over the remainder of the county through the 25th. Thunderstorms brought much needed rain after the 22nd which improved the drought conditions. On the 26th, Moderate Drought Conditions (D1) prevailed across the county except over the northwest quarter of the county where Abnormally Dry (D0) conditions prevailed. Marshfield recorded 3.72 inches of rain for the month, which was 95 percent of normal. However, nearly three inches of the rain fell over the last eight days of the month.
Wider weather episode
Severe Drought (D2) conditions continued through the 25th with thunderstorms bringing much needed rainfall to the drought stricken area after the 22nd. The much needed rainfall resulted in the improvement into the Moderate Drought (D1) or Abnormally Dry (D0) conditions on the 26th.
