Event narrative
Severe Drought (D2) was reported across the southwest portion of the county and
and Moderate Drought (D1) over the remainder of the county through the 25th. Thunderstorms brought much needed rain during the last eight days of the month, which resulted resulted in the southwest portion of the county no longer in Severe Drought (D2). On the 26th, Moderate Drought (D1) conditions prevailed across the county except over the far northeast where Abnormally Dry (D0) conditions prevailed. Appleton recorded 1.48 inches of rain for the month which was 46 percent of normal.
Wider weather episode
Severe Drought (D2) conditions continued through the 25th with thunderstorms bringing much needed rainfall to the drought stricken area after the 22nd. The much needed rainfall resulted in the improvement into the Moderate Drought (D1) or Abnormally Dry (D0) conditions on the 26th.
