Event narrative

Up to six inches of rain fell in a short amount of time causing flash flooding across portions of northern Boone County. There was between 2 and 3 feet of standing water at the intersection of Vandiver Drive and Route B (Paris Road).

Wider weather episode

A swath of strong to severe storms with very heavy rainfall rates moved southeast across portions of northern and central Missouri during the early morning hours of August 2nd. There were several reports of flash flooding.
