Event narrative
Tidal flooding was reported near the times of high tide along and near the Intracoastal Waterway, mainly affecting typically flood prone areas near State Road A1A and Sheridan Street in Hollywood and near Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. Standing water was less than 1 foot in parking lots and on the shoulders of roads. Tide levels at nearby Port Everglades peaked at 1.79 feet MHHW or 4.57 feet MLLW at 9:42 AM EDT September 30th.
Wider weather episode
The late September astronomical high tides (King Tide) in combination with onshore winds and NE swell brought moderate coastal flooding along the Atlantic Coast of South Florida. This flooding continued into the first few days of October, and another episode will be included in the October report.
