The SE Vaughn mesonet measured a peak gust of 58 mph.

Wider weather episode

A strong section of the jetstream overrode the Central Mountain Chain of New Mexico on December 8th. A portion of these winds were able to reach sections of the highlands immediately east of the Central Mountain Chain. The Las Vegas Airport ASOS and a mesonet station in southwestern Guadalupe County both measured peak gusts of 58 mph. Thankfully no damage was reported.
