Low pressure strengthened as it moved northeast with rain changing to snow on the backside of the system. The heaviest snow fell across the higher elevations of the Allegheny Mountains with four to eight inches reported. Further east into portions of the West Virginia Panhandle, localized amounts of two to five inches were reported along the ridges.
