Thunderstorm winds blew a large limb down from a tree in Junction City. At the time, Junction City was underneath the core of the passing thunderstorm.
Wider weather episode
A mesoscale convective complex caused severe thunderstorms to develop in west central, south central, and southwest Illinois during the afternoon and evening hours of August 6th. There were numerous reports of severe hail up to 1.50 and a few reports of severe wind gusts.
