Event narrative
Showers and thunderstorms brought much needed rain in October before dry conditions returned late in the month through November. From October 26th through November 21st, less than an inch of precipitation fell across the region. On the 21st, the Drought Monitor upgraded far northern Marinette County into the Severe Drought (D2) category. The remainder of the northern half of the county was classified in Moderate Drought (D1) while the southern half of the county was classified Abnormally Dry (D0). For the month, the nearby weather station in Iron Mountain, Michigan reported 0.54 inches of precipitation which was 1.36 inches below normal or 28% of normal.
