Observers around Ironwood measured between 4 and 6 inches of snow over less than a two-day period. Northwest winds gusting to 25 to 30 mph also caused reduced visibility in blowing snow.

Wider weather episode

Lake effect snow in the wake of a cold front produced moderate to heavy snow accumulation over the northwest wind snow belts of west and north central Upper Michigan from the evening of the 26th into the 28th.
