A winter storm produced 4 to 5 inches of snowfall across Cumberland County as snow began in the evening hours of January 15 and continued into the late morning hours of January 16, 2024. The southbound lane of Interstate 81 was closed for a period of time due to a tractor trailer on its side.

Wider weather episode

A rather disorgranized system brought an extended period of generally light snow to central Pennsylvania from the afternoon of January 15 through the morning of January 16, 2024. Snowfall amounts ranged from an inch or less across the northwest mountains up to 4 to 5 inches across the far Lower Susquehanna Valley. Slightly higher amounts were observed across portions of Tioga County.
