A discrete thunderstorm produced sub-severe hail in Warren County before crossing the border into Franklin County and dropping quarter sized hail between Washington and Pacific.

Wider weather episode

A stalled surface boundary extending from near Kansas City through central Illinois provided a focus for organized convection during the afternoon. Thunderstorms were mainly hail producers, with up to 1.75 inch diameter hailstones reported in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
