Drought — Panola, Texas

2023-11-01 to 2023-11-15 · Panola, Texas

Wider weather episode

Severe (D2) drought conditions persisted across much of Panola County Texas through the first half of November, as a result of the flash drought that developed from an exceptionally hot and dry summer. However, widespread rainfall amounts of around an inch fell across Panola County on November 9th-10th, providing enough positive impacts for a one category improvement to the ongoing drought by the November 16th issuance of the U.S. Drought Monitor. Thus, drought conditions improved to moderate (D1) across Panola County, and persisted through the remainder of November.
