A line of severe thunderstorms blew down multiple trees and power lines from north to south across Smith County.

Wider weather episode

An upper-level shortwave trough moving initiated thunderstorms along a cold front on the afternoon of June 25th. With an unstable air mass and strong jet stream over the region, these storms became severe and spread south into Mississippi during the evening hours.
