Several days of well above normal to near record warm high and low temperatures and continued snowmelt led to periods of dense fog over northern Houghton County from the 25th into the 28th. The dense fog also led to the disruption or cancellation of flights in and out of Houghton County Airport. Also, a brown Christmas was observed across Houghton County for the first time since 2015.
