SNOW SQUALL. A PennDOT RWIS station on Interstate 99 near Bellwood outlined a sharp drop in visibility below 1/4 of a mile with heavy snow lasting approximately 5-10 minutes.

Wider weather episode

Snow showers and squalls developed during the day in an anomalously cold airmass that advected in on a brisk northwesterly wind behind a departing winter storm. A few of the squalls dropped visibility significantly and posed a flash-freeze threat.
