An area of low pressure slowly tracking up and just off the East Coast brought widespread moderate to heavy snow across eastern New York on January 6-7, 2024. Snowfall totals were generally between 5 and 10 inches with localized areas above a foot. A few vehicle accidents occurred as a result of the snow covered and slippery roads. Snow Emergencies were also declared for some municipalities.
