Breezy to strong wind gusts became common across northeast Kentucky on the afternoon of January 12th in the midst of a passing low pressure system. Gusts on the order of 30 to 35 miles per hour were noted that afternoon and evening, which resulted in a few areas of tree damage and power outages. Winds began to ease off on the morning of January 13th once the low level jet associated with the system migrated to the northeast.
