A tree was downed along Route 22 near Hillsdale.

A strong storm system brought strong winds, heavy rainfall, flooding and high elevation wet snow to eastern New York from the afternoon hours on January 9 into the early morning hours on January 10, 2024. Between 3 and 7 inches of snow fell across portions of the southern Adirondacks along with a light accumulation of sleet and freezing rain before changing over to plain rain. On the warmer side of this system, between 2 and 4 inches of rain fell across areas south and east of Albany resulting in some minor flooding. In addition, localized wind gusts between 45 and 60 mph resulted in some downed trees and power lines.
