Event narrative

An anomalously cold airmass moved into the Ozarks on January 13th bringing high temperatures around Zero degrees with wind chills in -20 to -30 degree range for some locations. As precipitation overspread the cold air in place over the region on the 14th, accumulating snow fell across much of southern Missouri. Snow amounts from 1 to 3 inches occurred across the county. A public report of a measured storm total of 2.5 inches of snow near Wilderness via MPing. Roads became snow covered and slippery. Schools were closed due to winter weather.
