Temperatures early on the 14th were as low as -9F, while robust winds gusted as high as 30-40 mph...resulting in extreme wind chills as low as -35F through 1600 EST. Extreme low wind chills returned on the 15th at 100 EST amid temperatures as low as -9 and sustained winds around 10 mph...resulting in wind chills as low as -27 degrees.

Low temperatures on the morning of the 14th included widespread readings of -9 to zero degrees across central Indiana, with westerly winds sustained around 15-25 mph for most locations. This combination brought widespread wind chill values as low as -20 to -33 degrees. Criteria (wind chills of -25 degrees or lower) was reached pre-dawn over most central and northern zones where slightly lower temperatures and slightly stronger winds within the aforementioned ranges were present. Anomalously low temperatures through the daytime of the 14th rose to only near zero, which included the coldest daytime since January 1994 for observing sites in Clinton, Madison and Tipton Counties; criteria wind chills continued through at least the morning across several northern counties, especially while temperatures lingered at or below -5 degrees.
Temperatures early on the 15th were generally a few degrees lower than the 14th, with many locations nearing -10 degrees. However much lighter winds, generally sustained near or below 10 mph limited wind chills of -25 degrees or lower to only eight counties in north-central and northwestern central Indiana. Criteria resumed during 100 to 400 EST, and ended from 700 to 900 EST.
