A blast of winter weather cross through northeast Kentucky during the late evening hours of January 18th under the influence of a strong low pressure system. Even after its departure, northwesterly flow invited moisture and cold air from the Great Lakes region to progress downward and promoted continued snow showers through the day on the 19th and into the morning hours of January 20th. Generally 2 to 4 inches of snow fell across eastern Kentucky during this time.
