A low pressure system tracking off the East Coast brought widespread accumulating snow to Eastern New York Monday night, January 15, 2024 through Tuesday evening, January 16, 2024. Some lake-effect snow showers then impacted portions of Herkimer County during the evening hours on January 16. The event resulted in snowfall accumulations ranging from 2 to 6 inches with isolated, larger accumulations of 7 inches. A few vehicle accidents were reported due to the slippery road conditions.
