A low pressure system tracking across the Great Lakes region brought a combination of snow, rain, a brief wintry mix and windy conditions to eastern New York during the overnight hours on January 12 through the daytime hours on January 13, 2024. While wintry precipitation amounts generally remained light on the order of a coating to a few inches, 4 to 7 inches of snow fell across portions of the Adirondacks. Strong winds on the order of 35 to 55 mph resulted in some downed trees and wires, especially for areas east of the Hudson River, resulting in some power outages. River flooding also occurred along the Hudson River during the afternoon high tide on January 13.
