A severe thunderstorm produced ping pong ball size hail in Cumberland City.

An isolated thunderstorm moved across far northwest Middle Tennessee during the late afternoon of April 8, 2024. With abundant instability, this thunderstorm became severe in west Tennessee before crossing the Tennessee River. Reports of large hail up to 1.5 inches were received along with damage due to strong winds across portions of Houston and Stewart counties.
