A low pressure system tracked off the East Coast and brought a period of snow to much of southern Vermont during the daytime hours on January 28, 2024. By the overnight period and into the morning hours on January 29, 2024, precipitation transitioned to a wintry mix and/or eventually plain rainfall.

Snowfall amounts ranged from 2 to 7 inches across much of the area, resulting in locally slippery travel. The Vermont Route 9 Chain-Up Law was also activated between Bennington and Wilmington.
