Wider weather episode

Several midday hours of warm and rather humid conditions ahead of an approaching cold front provided a brief period of 1000-1500 J/kg of CAPE. This coupled with ample vertical wind shear from a small but potent wave swinging through the Great Lakes and Upper Midwest...to produce scattered midday showers and a few embedded early afternoon thunderstorms. Severe weather over central Indiana was limited to a report of large hail in far northern Madison County and isolated wind damage in Marion County.
