Severe drought (D2) conditions improved early in the month.

Wider weather episode

Exceptional (D4) drought conditions and Extreme (D3) drought conditions improved to Severe (D2) drought conditions and Moderate (D1) drought conditions by the end of February. Precipitation across Mississippi was near or above normal and temperatures were below normal. Lake and river levels had increased flow to near and above normal due to upstream snowmelt. A large wildfire occurred in Marshall County during the middle of the month.
